Why do I get so pissed off when I see:

*Made in China*

*Made in Taiwan*

Ok so I ordered a few knives to see which one I liked the best.

Here is the description of the first one:

"Titanium nitride coated 440C stainless steel blades provide the best edge-holding ability, ideal for rugged field use. The handles are made of solid G-10, which will hold up even under rigorous field use"

When it shows up, I flip it over I see: *440C China*

I am like WTF???????? Over

Here is the description of the second one:

"blades are full-tang skeletonized designs of premium AUS 8 stainless steel. For maximum corrosion resistance, the steel is first mirror polished to close the pores, and then black titanium nitride coated. The finger choils are heavily friction grooved for sure grip.
The black injection-molded Zytel® scales have an aggressive texture, and they are held in place with corrosion-resistant stainless steel Torx® fasteners."

The next purchase shows up, I flip it over I see: *2605 Tiawan*

Double WTF Over?

I will post up some pic's tomorrow

so what? because it comes out of china or Taiwan its instantly crap? don't rely on the branding on the blade man. give me an honest review. have you even cut anything with it? why don't you use one as your EDC for the next few weeks and then come back and give me a review with some kind of substance. not just, i bought two knives with nice descriptions but there made by Asians so they must suck.

my gigand was probably one of my favorite EDC folders before i started buying kershaw.

they are a quality product and i still own one. in fact, i liked my first one so much i bought a second after i lost it. i sent them an email the other day, and as long as i don't mind paying shipping out, they will completely refurbish and clean the knife for me free of charge, just like Kershaw.

i plan on givin you guy an honest review - but lets just say i was taken by surprise is all.

i carried one today and changed ever possible carry position just to see what i liked best and which carrier worked for me
Fact:
Fuck ups included, its still many times cheaper to have things made in china.

i took a tour of an injection molding company. They have all their molds made in china.

Quote: Its is 5 times cheaper to commision a factory in china to make a mold, ship the mold (1 freight container) to america, discover it's crap, ship it back to china, have them correct the mold, and ship it back again.... than to commission an american machine shop to do it right the first time.

the ONLY time they used american machine shops is when they needed something done yesterday and done right the first time. I.E. absolute emergency.

so yeah, if a chines plant pumps out 30 worthless knives per 100, its probably still much much cheaper than anywhere else.

I always wonder what sort of training the Chinese get to make percision products such as high quality knives and such.

Maybe I should buy a video camera and make a documentary.
