yeah, this should be a which caliber should I buy, not a which model....

I'd go with the 23...I'm a .40 fan. Cheap ammo, good knockdown power.

edit: also read McCrackin's tidbit below...for he is right.

also - those models are all just compact, the sub models are G26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 33

Yes, the question is what caliber. I prefer the compact because I have big hands, want a light rail, feel I can conceal the compact relatively easily, and am concerned about the accuracy and controllability of the subcompact models.

yep - plus cheap extra barrel to carry .40 and .357sig depending on enviroment.

I voted for the 23. .40 or .357sig and just the right size for me.
