1. Traffic. Oh my, good old traffic. It wouldn't be so bad if there was a valid reason for the traffic, but if the traffic is being caused by people who are slowing down to watch someone changing their tire on the side of the road, my blood starts to boil and it seriously makes me wish I had a james bond-like missile launcher! (this also includes people who drive really slow for no damn reason, well below the speed limit and don't let you pass, people not knowing how to merge correctly and thus causing traffic to start, oblivious cell phone talking drivers (mostly women or guys in big trucks), etc, etc) I wish Americans were required to go through an intense drivers course, much like the one in Germany, and I also wish that getting your drivers license was much more difficult than it is currently! Perhaps then traffic won't show its ugly face at every hour of the day on every damn road and freeway in most populated areas. I know that traffic can't be avoided all together due to crowding of the roads, but it can def be reduced a lot by removing the "stupid driver element".


2. Outsourced jobs. I frigging HATE when I have to work with some guy from some non-English speaking country (Cough* India *cough) who speaks almost NO English just because the company wanted to save money by not hiring an American. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't need to communicate with them as much as I do, but communication between us is VITAL for my line of work, and I need to know EXACTLY what is going on with different servers, etc, that they are in charge of handling. I can't even do my job half the time because I can't understand what they are verbally saying, so I have to have them send me an email with what they are talking about, and even the email is a scrambled mess and I have to have like 5 different people dicipher so I'm even able to respond to their email in the first place. Where's the logic there? Is the company really saving money by charging these guys $20 an hour Vs $40 an hour if they were americans? (I pulled that pay rate out of my ass btw) I hope you guys don't think that I hate a certain race of people because they can't speak English, that is not the case at all and that's not what I'm saying, I'm saying that I hate the fact that non-english speaking folks who have a weaker skill set get hired over more qualified American/British/Etc speaking candidates just to save a buck here and there! (This doesn't only apply to Indian people, but thats just the vast majority of people outsourced in my line of work which is) In the long run they aren't really saving that much money because productivity is lowered, communication between the US teams and their teams is crap which wastes time and money left and right... These folks aren't as trained as most American people that we hire so they tend to screw things up very often too that we have to fix which in turn wastes even more time and money!

3. Drama at work. The typical workplace drama where everyone gossips about everyone for no damn reason. Also, fake ass people who coddle you (at work) because they feel by kissing your ass to the extreme that they will somehow get the further in the company, or get them something out of it, not sure what that something is, but they make it so damn obvious that they are kissing ass and not being "natural"... They then go and gossip about you behind your back to other people (who are actually your friends) who tell you everything. Why does this drama have to occur in the work place!? Why can't everyone keep to themselves and be productive at work or even post on message boards all day like I do!? WHY!? Work isn't some social playground anymore! We're not 16-20 working at a fast food joint/store/etc anymore dammit!


That is my rant, now lets hear yours. Only list 3 things that bother you the most about your daily lives (home or work).

1. Short memories.
People who ask the same question that they asked an hour/day/week ago and act like you never told them as much already two, four, six, eight times prior and/or that you'll for some odd reason tell them something different than the last time they asked the same damn question.
If you genuinely suck at remembering crap then get yourself a pen and paper they are cheap or take verbal notes into a handheld recorder. During meetings and con-calls write notes to yourself toward what is being discussed...so that others don't have to review what was discussed last time all over again because you took too many drugs in HS/college and your memory capacity is 32KB.

2. Ignorance.
If you don't know just say hey man I don't know or I'm not sure. Don't go make some shit up or state some crap ass assumption out of your ass, especially when your statement will be taken as being serious and/or the discussion is more than buddies bullshitting over a beer type talk.
Oh and when you turn out to be wrong don't be mad because me or someone else knew the right or most correct answer. Be mad at yourself for not knowing or thinking before acting or having the mindset to seek out a correct answer rather than making crap up and getting yourself if not others owned.

3. Getting upset because persons aren't sitting around 24/365 waiting for you to call.
What is with people these days. If they go to VM they get all bent like OMG why didn't you answer your phone!!! Bitch I'm talking to someone else right now, wait your turn and I'll get back to you when I can. You ain't dying or in jail and if you were well that's likely your own fault not mine.
In my work life I spend 90% of my time talking to people by phone. In my personal/off time I hate using phones because I'm on them all day. If you hit VM deal with it...I only have one head to talk with at a time.
Conversely carrying your damn phone with you everywhere and wearing those goofy telemarketer bluetooth phone ear pods is not cool or necessary. You look like an idiot and you sound like an idiot.
I see people wearing these things to concerts, the movies, into public bathrooms and talking about absolutely nothing of importance whilst taking a shit. Come the fuck on what the hell man. VM exists for a reason and tell a bitch hey I'll get back to you in an hour or so to tell you about how I'm right now not doing a damn thing same as I was an hour ago and will be doing less than that in the next hour.

Most of my gripes are related to work because most of my life right now revolves within and around work.
My personal life right now has same as the above but not nearly as often do I come across as much as I do with work on a day by day by day with the same fools basis.

It's looking like next spring I'll have to fly out to Oxnard (spring) to meet with a client and attend with them a seminar & product line expo they are trying to put together for a buyer. I haven't been out there to see them in 9 yrs. but it's on my and their calendar right now as tentative. Much in the way of details have to be worked out including that of the potential buyer (govt.).

Additionally an old buddy of mine that I've known since HS now lives in Santa Barbara and he's due to get married next summer. I'll likely wind up being asked to act as his best man and will be flying out for that as well.
I definitely do not want to miss his wedding and will drop most whatever to make it even if it's just for a quick turn n' burn trip.

I generally do not care to travel and commercial flying I like even less but if/when I find myself for sure scheduled to headed to your zone I've already got you and Chris619 on my very short list of people to try to reach out to and if at all negotiable have a root beer if not steak with.
I'd likely not have a lot of spare/play time but I would make an effort knowing you both are out that way and I'm a fan likewise.

hahha, someone that hates modern day "hippies" more than I do!? No way!

Emo kids piss me off really badly, but "punk music snobs" piss me off even more. They don't believe in listening to ANYTHING that isn't either old classic punk, or very small time new punk bands that no one knows about... But as soon as that band signs a record deal, they instantly suck regardless of how much they were liked before they signed. They also think they are above everyone and frown upon people like me who don't listen to punk. I have my own opinion based off my own taste, yet they think we're not original enough and constantly preach about being free, but they aren't free at all... they are bound to this weird nazi-opressive music scene that wont let them like anything that isnt small time and not signed with a label. Ahhhhhh! I know like 10 people that area like this... we all grew up together, then they started being like this so I stopped talking to them, and actually ended up getting in a physical fight with one. (He didn't like what I had to say about life, so he swung at me and missed... and I don't take kindly to people that try to hurt me, so I bent his stupid ass into a pretzel!)

Whew, that felt good to get off my chest.

Now that I mention it, I hate all snobs... Be it a wine snob, music snob, whatever snob! I hate people who think their opinion of something is concrete and absolute, and everyone elses opinion is whack no matter what. Wish I could lock these people into a dungeon and have them lectured by psychologists, and then throw cream pies with nails in them at them! ha ha ha

I also wanted to show my dislike for religious nuts. If you want to have your own beliefs, fine, believe what you want, but don't go pushing your stupid beliefs that stem from your fear of death (and what is after) and lack of self leadership onto me! I don't want to hear about what your religion does! I don't want you to lecture me because I don't believe in something you believe! I have my own beliefs and I keep them to myself, simple as that! I don't go pushing my thoughts on life/morals/what’s wrong or right onto people (well, unless someone asks, but that’s a different story).

It's not just that however, these religious freaks are f'ed up in the head! They congregate with others like them, breed, brainwash their children, and the cycle repeats. If you're not one of them, then you're not right in their eyes. I just don't understand how people can be THAT faithful in something that is made up! I mean, we have very little proof of any of that, other than some book of wives tales and stories of good and evil that someone wrote a long time ago which proves nothing! They allow their lives to be consumed by this fallacy, and for what!? To ease the thought of death? To give them some sort of direction because they don’t have any? To feel needed/special? I don't get it!

Remember kids, I'm talking about religious fanatics, not just people who believe in God/Allah/whatever... I'm talking about the hard core ones that do really bad things in the name of their faith.

Every day I pass by the scientologists gathered on the corner of 4th and Market and "NO I DON'T WANT YOUR FUCKING FREE STRESS TEST ASSHOLE!!!" Makes it apparent, no?

Janq, 100% with you on the cell phones, twice in one week I was almost hit in the crosswalk by some douche trying to cut a quick left one handed, while flapping their gums during whatever oh-so-important phone call they think is more important than directing a 1/2 ton+ vehicle through people & traffic.

Oh, and I never really understood people who take calls in a public bathroom, especially when dropping a deuce. Kinda weird.
