I have seen lower, but I would save up for a nicer AK. Dont get me wrong there great rifles, I have one myself but unless you want it as a cheap home defence gun your not scared to leave out when your away or as a first semi auto rifle I would get a nicer one like a Yugo under folder.

they had an underfolder there too; for 500

thats a crapload, considering I paid 160 for my arsenal refinished SKS.

Try to find some gun shows. I've recently seen many nicer ones go for $350-$450.

SARCO had post ban ones for 279.00 awhile back. 350 seems to be the norm. If you want something slightly nicer look into Vector Arms AKs. One step up on the fit and finish scale.

At the gun show I went to yesterday here in Georgia I saw a WASR for 300 new.

Also got some other goodies I found there for my 37mm.
