Talk about blowing shit out of proportion! He has one 9mm rifle, no ammo, a bunch of plastic guns that shoot plastic bbs and hes making home made explosives? whats the big fuckin deal? Me and a friend used to make black powder explosives all the damn time. Criminal solicitation for talking about columbine with a his "friend in the loosest of terms". but come on people, weapons of mass distruction? you have got to be fucking kidding me.
provides a serious lack of motive.
im surprised my fellow gunatics are so quick to judge. shame, really.
He was removed from the school 1.5 yrs. ago by his parents for problems in getting along with the other children. They stated that they would 'home school' him.
The police have found in his bedroom plans and notes toward specifically attacking the school.
The weapons they found included a 9MM rifle and handgun, along with as reported on CNN this morning a box of ammunition.
The vast majority of his 'cache' were air rifles toward BBs and be they airsoft BBs or metal old school BBs it does not matter. People still could have been hurt by them or as a result of them. A girl in the Ohio shooting was hospitalized upon falling and being trampled by other children behind her trying to escape from the gunman being directly behind them.
Further a gunman even alone with an airsoft rifle showing up at a school is extremely disruptive and terrifying to children, teachers, other staff, community and childrens parents...and worst the police who would show up and likely shoot this kid on site would be affected as well for shooting a child with a realistic looking and functioning airsoft rifle.
Potential for terror alone was high. That is not blown out of proportion nor the fault of the media. Same happened just one (Ohio) and two days (Wisc) prior.
It's a pretty big deal.
As to making black powder explosives fortunately you were not a nut bag and didn't make maps of your schoool toward planning of attacks and didn't solicit your firends to get involved in helping you do same toward attacking a school.
Not exactly the same thing is it?
Kind of like how lots of kids play with Airsoft guns and own one or maybe even ten. The key here is the total of this specific boys actions not simply that of his cache the majority were Airsoft or that you suppose his hand greandes might maybe have been airsoft grenades, which still can injure a person and/or instill fright and associated injury.
