Thinking about trading in the G 26 (small 9mm) for an XD sub compact 40, but I have a few questions.
Would I be able to drop in a 357sig barrel into the XD 40 subcompact?
Would I be able to drop in a barrel from a 4" XD (barrel would stick out the front)

I asked these same questions awhile back. Springfield told me that the .357 barrel will drop in, but they don't sell barrel's separately. So you would have to buy aftermarket, which may not be a bad thing.
I don't know about the 4" barrell though.

this may sound silly - but you CAN do that with a glock 27!

i have a .357 sig barrel that the wifey got me 2 xmas's ago and i have put in a g23 barrel before (not 4" but it fits with no issues)

do remember that some of these compacts have had cracking isues. Id stay with a glock but that is my opinion. You might want to look at a Walther p99 or Steyr compact as well. I just like them better.
