Teen killed in confrontation with off-duty deputy

October 24th, 2006

Portsmouth Police say an off-duty sheriff's deputy was leaving a business in Victory Crossing Shopping Center on Monday night when there was a confrontation [car jacking] with at least one teenager. A 15-year-old boy was killed.

Lesson to be learned:
As a CCW or homeowner in defense of your life or property you should expect commentary and anger from the BG's family & friends. Pretty much figure on it as a given no matter how obviously wrong and justified you might be in your own actions toward the BG(s).
This video is just one of many examples toward how folks people can and do react ignoring the fact that their own are the ones who did wrong not the person being wronged and in fear of their life.

In california car jacking is a felony. All sworn peace officers on or off duty are required to stop any/every felony in progress. The ignorance in the family is funny. They're supporting a 15yo running around with a gun, car jacking people and questioning the actions of a peace officer in the lawful and required performance of his duties........

Big deal the officer had the right to defend himself in that situation and did i'm glad he went home safe. tell the family to get over it. what the bg did was illegal and he deserved to be shot and so does anyone comiting a felony like that.

He was an honner student and the caption of his football team, leader of the teens against violence and running for president of the united states.. As for the comments of that one ignorant family member, yeah, it's to be expected. I bet there were 5 other people they spoke with that day, but her statements were the most outlandish. Mom and granny were probably all, "Eric had some troubles but he was trying to do right." Auntie Mensa took the cake though. They couldn't-not put her on the air.
