I've got an AR with the standard bird cage. I'm wondering if there is a good 'silencer' that I could get for it that doesn't require any permanent gun modification. I tried a couple searches, maybe I spelded it wrong
you can replace the standard birdcage with one that either threads off or has thread on the outside for the type of suppressor that you want. First pick a supressor then figure out how to mount it. Different cans use different mounts
Some supressors to look at are
AAC
Knights
Gemtech
YHM
Surefire
AWC
SWR
make sure you get your tax stamp
So far I have researched them for about a year now and I think im soon going to get the ACC M4-2000. Ive found it seems to be one of the best around. But im going to have to test fire one first. You do have the change your FH on it.
Also take a look at the TAC-16's from Tactical Innvoations, there $399 and are full auto rated. Plus if you dont like it you can send it back. But they are not QD
Most of the newer made supressers you are going to have to change your FH on because some of the flash hiders are out of spec and you may get baffle strikes <--- BAD!
I just got it about a year ago so that is very possible. How can I tell?
Edit: For reference, it is a Bushmaster A3 model (telestock and removable carry handle to expose Picatinny rail) It came with a 30 rd. magazine so maybe it is not a post-ban design?...
