Well consider these the next generation of the M3/M6's. It's a much improved build being mostly out of Aircraft Aluminum instead of injection molded plastic. I'm glad they kept the rocker/tail switch form the M3/M6 series and the biggest improvement is the rail catch. Much easier to remove the unit.
Differences between the M3/M6 and TRL1/TRL2. The TRL series uses a Luxeon LED's instead of the Xenon's the earlier Surefire's and M3/M6's. The LED's do run almost 2.5s times longer on dual CR123a batterys, but are not as bright as a Xenon. (LEDs also don't get hot like the Xenon, I've had Surefire's get so hot you can't hold them)
I would say go for the TRL series over the M3/M6's. They made alot of improvements plus form the MidwayUSA sale they are cheaper. Unless you need the added lumens of the Xenon bulb.
