In additiont the Benchmade I just bought, I decided I need a new beater knife. I chose the Cara Cara Black for myself and the Meadowlark Black for my girlfriend both with ComboEdge serration. Both knives plus shipping came to roughly $50 from The Spyderco Store.

Review to come when I get them.

yeah i used to as well. but most of what i use my EDC for is opening boxes, so its super nice to be able to hold the box and open/close my knife with the other hand.

I'm sorry, but any locking device on a knife only requires one hand. Press the release on back of handle and push the back of the blade against any object available to close it. Same idea with a liner lock

FYI: Byrd knives are designed by Spyderco, but manufactured by another company.

honestly, i just dont trust myself to close a blade against my leg while i hold a spine lock open. with the tactical lock, its two very easy motion, push bar left with thumb, and close blade with index finger.
