I was watching something on TV the other night about South African special police force. One of their duties was to go to other neighboring countries and find and blow up ammo dumps left there by various warlords.
One dump they found had a bunch of AK-47s that had been buried for 18 YEARS! And not well either, they were just piles of rust.
Or so they looked. One armorer guy poured a quart or so of motor oil all over one, loosened it up, and shot mag after mag full auto through it. It was amazing, with the thing pouring out smoke as it heated up and burned off the oil.
Amazing weapon!
