Knives are one of my "things" along with Watches, Cars and Guns. I have ALOT of knives. Some big, some small, all pretty cool.

This is just a small collection of some of my favorites. I've added a few since then, I need to get a new picture when I get a chance.

Here's what's in the picture clockwise from the left.

Gerber LMF-II ASEK (Knife and Safety Knife)
SOG Flash II Tigerstripe
Colt Commander bootknife (was cheap and looked cool)
Surefire A2 Aviator Flashlight
Ka-Bar USMC Full Size
A well used Ontario Pilot's Survival Knife
And finally a Cold Steel "Katana" (Too short to be a true Katana but it's still cool.)

Very nice... The Ka-bar owns... I love it because of it's history. Great blade to own. I bought a tool steel ka-bar (full size) for someone once as a gift. They appreciated it for what it was.

Are you sure that the katana is Cold Steel? It looks like a United Cutlery model.

How is it, regardless? Weight, balance, edge-holding, grips?
Ah you're right, it is a UC. I forgot. Anyhoo, it's pretty cool. I've always kinda liked it. More a show/display piece than anything but it feels cool and handles well.

Sweet. Do you know a reliable site I could buy one from?
I got mine at Sportsmans Guide for like $25 or something. They don't have them anymore. Dunno where to get one now.

not to be picky but i think thats a lot closer to a ninja-to or choku-to. i dont think any self respecting samurai would carry a flimsy straight sword. katana's almost always have a curved blade and would be significantly longer, same with wakizashi.

i really like your ka-bar.

Yeah, I figured it wasn't a true Katana or even Wakizashi. It is slightly curved though, with a tanto tip.

The Ka-Bar is still one of my favorite fixed blades. I've been wanting to get another one to keep pristine so I can keep using the one I have. They're so nicely balanced and the feel in your hand is just perfect. Something about a stacked leather handle gets to me too.
