so i heard yesterday that in cali, you cant have pistol mags that have cutouts so you can see the remaining rounds in the mag.

I call bullshit, all the mags I own have cutouts and they were purchased legally within the golden state. Tell your friend to stop pulling your leg, and also not to give any of our cali politicians any ideas...one of those things that it sounds so crazy that it might be true.

My M&P's mags have witness holes, and were purchased brand new from a CA FFL dealer.

My M&P40's mags have holes for reloading purpose.
