I got a Heineken Mini-keg the other week, mostly because i needed to buy a 40 cent item and was to embarassed to use a debit card for it.

It was right ebfore the Superbowl, so I figured, hey it would get drank up at sopme point, and the container said that the beer was good for a solid Month after opening.

One thing I hate about drinking beer (or wine for that matter) is that often I don't want a full beer, and I'll leave an inch or so at the bottom, so I've always wanted something on draft.

Anyway, this thing is just great. $20 for 5 Litres, the tap system is easy, just plug it right in, and flip the top over, and beer comes out!

When I was in Dresden I bought a pony keg for me and my friend to share. It was some off weird German beer, the point of the story is, 5 liters between two guys is enough for you to get kicked out of a hotel.

I've had one of the german ones as well as the Heineken mini keg. The cool thing about the Heineken one is it's pressurized, the german beer just had the tap at the bottom being gravity fed and you had to open a vent at the top that you couldn't close. So basically it wouldn't last like the Heineken keg will.

Shit, 5 liters of German beer is definately enough. First time I was in Germany I didn't listen to the warnings all the people gave me about German beer being stronger. I had like 5 beers at the speed I usually drink American beer at and I got up to take a piss and the next thing I knew I was speed stumbling head first straight into a wall next to the bathroom door. The second (and unfortunately last time......for now) time I was in Germany, I knew better and went a little slower.

Homebrew

I brew my own beer...5 gallons at a time!

In the secondary fermenter: Belgian dubbel - Target ABV 9%
In the bottles: American Wheat - 3.8%
Irish Stout - 5.5%

Next brew: Either an Imperial Russian Stout or an IPA
This next one is getting kegged. Bottling is cool for giving away beer but it's a pain in the arse.

Cheers!
