As of right now on our state constiution there is nothing that says we have a right to keep and bear arms in CA. I am a volunteer for my county and I am going to collect signatures in March at the Paso Robles Gun show. I failed in December due to the papers being 3" off. :x

Become a Volunteer today this is out best shot to restore our gun rights in CA!

The Proposition:

The inalienable right to defend life and liberty as set forth in Article I, Section 1 of the California Constitution includes the fundamental right of each person to keep and bear arms for the defense of self, family and home. This right shall not be infringed.

1. All State government action regulating the right of law-abiding persons to acquire and possess arms for the defense of self, family and home shall be subject to strict scrutiny, in the same respect as the freedoms of speech and of the press. All county, city and local government action on this subject is preempted by state law and this Amendment.

2. This Amendment does not limit the State from regulating the acquisition and possession of arms by: felons, minors, the mentally incompetent, and any person subject to restraining orders based upon their own violent conduct.

Amen to that, you gotta sart somewhere.

A lot of really anti states have strong gun statements in their constitution but still severely limit what you can do, RI comes to mind. Sometimes I wonder if the state lawmakers even look at the state constitution anytime after high school.
They ignore it like the do the 2nd. Well look at the state of Maine their State Constiution RIght ot bear arms clause is straight forward. Paraphrase :Shall not be questioned."
Yeah, I like that. I think NH has "shall no tbe questioned" too, and they take it seriously.

Every year, some fuckhead near portland tries to float and AWB for the state, and it gets shot down. :D Hopefully he finds gainful employment as a hemherroid lancer in the near future instead of a legislator.
