Are you able to remove the orange tips from the airsoft guns that have them? What's the deal? How come some have them and others don't?

This was kidna covered here already: (Sorry... the original poster didn't title the thread that well to show this)

But in a nutshell. The orange tips and trademark removal are only needed for US Customs to let the items into the country. There may be local laws stating you need to keep the orange tip on, but once in the US, orange tips are not "needed" from a fedral stand point.

To answer your question specifically, check your local laws and rules of the airsoft field you may play on.

Theoretically speaking, you don't need to orange tip, as long as you keep it in a bag unless you're actually using it in a game. (Which, by the way, should always be played away from cities/towns/whatever, unless it's at a designated field, like they have for paintball). Although some state laws do state that the orange tip must stay on, as long as nobody sees it, they won't know, now will they? ;) Incidentally, I plan on keeping the orange tip on all of my guns.

A curious fact on orange tips. In Los Angeles gang members were painting orange tips on their real guns thinking it would keep the cops off their backs... Because of that stupidity... airsoft or real is now treated as real...
those damn bea****!

It may be funny for you to post that but some people will take offense. Please be more careful.
