Pistol grip makes it more likely to spray and pray.... ah maybe.

Standard rifle stock makes recoil easier to handle when shooting from the hip since the shape deflects the recoil downwards rather than straight back into your hand.

Tip for the day: when planning to spray your favorite McD's, use a weapon with a traditional stock so you are less affected by the recoil

I think the fear of a bayonet is simple. Most people have never been shot so they know it will hurt but not exactly what kind of pain it is. All of us have been cut and/or stuck with a needle. We KNOW it hurts and HOW it hurts and the sight of a huge blade on the end of a gun makes you wish the bullet gets you not the knife. Its all in their head.
