N00bie question

OK so I'm getting into pistols now after being a rifle guy for a long time (I still am, just am finally seeing a practical use for pistols in my current situation).

One thing that seems to be eluding me is getting a good sight picture.

Everything I try leads to my eyes getting crossed :???:

So, what's the best way to use the sights on a pistol?
