Can you guess what it is? (this shouldn't be so hard) The first coat of linseed is still drying, maybe 1 or 2 more coats. After that I will refinish the metal on the buttstock and handguard. It's close enough to completion, that I have decided to post a picture.

HK finish is a baked enamel over pakerizing so it is not hard to do. God bless gun kote or Duracoat. Brownells sells gun kote in a can now.

I really like Tru Oil. It builds and protects so much better. You can easily dull it down with some steel wool.

Linseed oil waterproofs but thast about it.

Its a polymerized oil. It yields wonderfull results. I have also seen Danish Oil come out well but have not tried it personally.
