Just as the title asks. Im looking for the most accurate long range semi-auto gun for around $700. I was thinking about the Romak 3 but they want $789 and I heard they arent that accurate for whatever thats worth.

im wanting maybe 5 inch groups at 200 m if that is feasable.

Got a caliber in mind? You just looking to punch paper? Going to hunt anything specific?

Help me out here.

Edit: Oh yea, 5 inches at 200m isn't all that accurate. I can almost do that with iron sights on an M-16. Mine were about 6-7 inch groups from the 300 yard berm.

Well I would say look around for a PTR(precision target rifle) 91 in 308 Winchester/7.62NATO. SARCO inc was selling them for 695.00 new. Its basically a HK91 with some improvements to help accuracy. All parts interchange with the original HK though.

You may be able to pick up or build an AR for that as well. But I always go for a 30cal over the 223 AR anyday. They tend to be more reliable, and have more knockdown power at longer ranges.

The VEPR is hard to find right now due to a dispute with MOLOT who makes them for Robinson Armament. I guess they are now resuming production and a new batch is on its way for import.

I still say PTR

I'm liking that PTR-91 myself... But what's the difference between the RF and KFOF? Now I just need to save up ~$1,200. ;)

So... that's the only difference that makes for a $100 increase in price? o.0 That must be one nice barrel...
