So, I want to get a Mk. 23 SOCOM Airsoft and I want one heavy, accurate and good. Would really like to have LAM and Silencer attachments. Was looking at the Tokyo Maruai with the silencer and LAM but it doesn't have a moving slide, I'd really like one that's realistic that way. Being able to take down is a plus.

Is the KSC version any good?

The TM MK23, while it is NBB (Non blowback) is powerful and quiet and comes with all the accessories you want plus carrying case included. Unfortunately the LAM included with teh TM MK23 is a toy. No real tac light or laser, But the silencer is foam filled adn actuslly silences (Some of the Chinese copies like STTI/KJW silencers do not silence):

The KSC line of MK23's are all GBB (Gas Blowback) and a good amount of add-ons and upgrades (i.e Metal Slides, Performance Upgrades, Etc) are made for them since they've been in the market so long. They perform the best of all MK23s on the market right now. They take down somewhat close to the real version.

As far as more realistic replica LAMs for for MK23's the few choices that were available, I haven't seen in a while.

The Wolf M97 LAM. Real Surefire Taclight Bulb and Laser Pointer. Unfortunately only momentary on switches so free hand needs to be used to operate.

There's 2 model LAMs that were out. 1 was a copy of the Wilcox LAM (You'll need the MK23 rail adapter to use) and the other of the HK MK23 LAM. Both model kits let you add your own light and laser.

MK23 Silencers are a 16mm - thread. Most airsoft silencers are 14mm. If you order a 14mm silencer you will need a 16mm-14mm adapter. So make sure you are ordering a MK23 16mm silencer. (Even if it says and looks like a SOCOM silencer, make sure it's 16mm)

Thanks for the help ORCA. I'm gonna try to find the TM kit version. They also just came out with a pair of plain spring versions too.

The other day I picked up a couple cybergun springs for the heck of it, a DPMS Carbine Panther A-15 and a S&W M1911 Ultra Heavyweight. Not bad pieces.

??? The Tokyo Marui MK23 Springers came out a few years before the Gas NBB version. Good models of the MK23 either way you go though.

I haven't seen many TM MK23 kits for sale by US based retailers lately. They are still available in Hong Kong though, just factor in the shipping charges.

Watch out for the used TM MK23 NBB's. Because they are NBB's they are DA and I've seen alot of them with bum triggers sold used. If you do come across a used set ask alot of questions.
