Well crapcakes...

Again, the tough-talking teens and uber-tactical-high-speed-low-drag mall security guards on 'certain other gun enthusiast groups' have me wondering...

It would appear that people either really love or absolutely hate lasers, i.e. LaserMax/Crimson Trace/etc... I am pretty well entrenched into the "Undecided" camp despite the fact that I own a Taurus 605 with a set of Crimson Trace Lasergrips which seem to work well for my purposes [insert sinister laugh here?] and was wondering what the general consensus on lasers is around here.

Personally I doubt that I would get a laser setup for much of anything save a short-barreled revolver these days, but that is more a factor of me being frugal than any disdain for them... I kinda like it for my snubby, though.

I've never really been a big fan of them. One thing i've realized lasers are good for and my ccw instructor recomended them for this purpose to is for point and shoot. A laser helps you out with point and shoot so its a good idea to practice point and shoot with a laser at first until you really get it down.

That and if you run out of bullets, you can still point the laser in someone's eyes and pistol whip the shit out of them when they're disoriented.

:wag:

Seriously, though, they're a really good training tool. I wouldn't rely on them too much, since if you get used to only shooting with the laser and it goes down you're kind of up shit creek, but they're a very usefull tool either way.

Indeed, it is indeed a tool, nothing more. Don't rely on it, but use it when you can to your advantage, just as you would use any other tool.

Your night sights or iron sights will never fail you (unless they fall off), but if you have the means, why not use it? Know what I mean?

I fly both ways. Love it iron, love it photonic. :D
