Best damned 308 assault rifle out there as far as I am concerned. SARCO inc sells them for 695 new in the box. Utterly reliable and works on roller locking delayed blowback so there is no gas system to foul up and worry about. About as accurate as an M1A for about 70% the price.

If only it was legal in Kalifornia.
I wish HK would have kept that operating system. The g41 was a nice rifle but as usualy governments werent willing to pay for something good and so now we have the mediocre G36 and its bastard child the XM8
I had the PTR A1, nice rifle, decent accuracy, was very reliable after 200 rounds to break it in.

Kicks hard compared to my M1a Socom because of the large bolt carrier

The locking lugs are a bitch to clean, but the gun will run when very dirty.

Dings the crap out of brass, so reloading is out, and it chucks the brass about 10-15 yards in any direction.

its a great rifle, I sold mine because I like the socom better for a battle rifle and my 700p LTR for accuracy
Look into a recoil port buffer for an HK. I had the same issues with my SR9 until I added the buffer. It will make your brass salvageable for reloading.

Yep, the brass on mine gets distroyed and smacks the shooter 4 lanes down from me in the head.... every time.
Ever heard of the baseball cap brass catcher? All you need is some tactical tape like masking tape to fix the baseball cap brass catcher.
