Right now, in home defense handguns I have about 10 rounds in a Sig 226 and the same in a Glock 9mm. So about a total of 20 rounds ready to go (they are in a locked cabnet). I got to thinking. What if the zombies/russians/rioting mob, or whatever, laid seige to my house? Would I have time to load up all my mags before they attacked? I have 2 30 rnd mags for my AK that would take forever to load. One time I went to a gun store and a guy opened his gun case and he had several 30 rnd mags that he said he kept them fully loaded all the time. This seems a little extreme for me. So I got to wondering, Does anyone here keep most of thier mags fully loaded all the time? Id say, of all the space for bullets in my mags, I currently have them about 5% loaded. What do you guys have? This may be a stupid topic but im bored and was wondering. Sorry in advance.

I have 28 rds of 5.56 in a 30 rd mag, 10 rds in a 10 rd mag, 5 rds in a 10 rd mag.
15 rds of 9mm in a 15 rd mag and 10 rd in a 10 rd mag.
I also have a few boxes of 30-06 and 20 gauge ready.

I have mags as a few items on my Christmas list.
In total I have:
2x 10 rd 5.56
2x 10 rd 9mm
1x 15rd 9mm
2x 30rd 5.56

Hmm, I probably have a 20 round, a 30 round and a 40 round AR magazine loaded right now...

Probably at least a couple of G19 15 round mags, possibl a 17 round one as well....

One or two or three 1911 Mags loaded

Of course my carry gun is loaded, so Colt Defender with a mag in it, as well as a S&W snubby revolver with a loaded cylinder...

I suppose that's it. I unload stuff sometimes so my son can practice with snap caps.

Total? 4 AR mags, few AK mags, 4 H&K USP, 3 12Ga's and some other stuff... Large house so I keep stuff around but when I leave its all in the safe. thats about 10% of my mags loaded... I looked in my mag crate the other day and stood at awe at how I could collect so many AR and AK mags.. No idea how or why I have so many.

Other than my hunting/target guns which are stored empty, all of my fun/HD,SD gun mags are loaded, you don't need the number, some small 3rd world countries might worry lol. I'm not paranoid or anything I'm just in the habit of loading them after I shoot so I don't gotta waste time loading a mag before I can shoot, that bugs the hell out of me for some reason.

oh, does that count? because in that case I have about 3000 rounds of M855 5.56, 500 Normal ball ammo, 600 7.62X39 and around 600 8mm steel jacketed ammo.

I buy ammo in bulk to save money and then throw most on stripper clips. The M855 im saveing for a rainey day.

IMO it is the only way to store large quantities ammo.

Keep a few ready to rock & leave the rest static in strippers.
