meh is right.

HK lastest designs have ben uninspired at best

and could you get the slide lock any further back, christ, its not a safety
i don't like it for the same reasons i don't like the Walther P99. its fuckin goofy looking. its over-engineered and looks "futeristic" for no reason other.... then to look fuckin futuristic. ill take a REAL USP or a sig over that ugly ass hole of a gun any day. the grip design and the stupid ribs on the slide are horrendous.

Those are quite some heated words there.

Hehe, I love my P99. I don't seem to think of it as "futuristic" at all. Maybe compared to the trusty 1911 frames, but otherwise, I think the "look" is more for ergonomics rather than it just looking "fuckin futuristic." I'm sure that gun manufacturers tailor their weapons to just look "futurisitic"

There are plenty of goofy looking guns to me as well. The Steyr M being one of them. But if the gun shoots accurately, is reliable, and fits the person's hands, then isn't that what really counts?

But, as you said in your other posts filled with expletives, "its just a fuckin Walther." So I don't expect much else said from ya ;)
Hahahaha. Its just an opinion really. Does not have any bearing what so ever on the guns abilities. I'm really glad to hear you like your P99. I'm personally not a huge fan of how they look. I have not shot one before either, but i have heard they are very nice guns.
Maybe futuristic was not the best word to use, but i do get a sorta low budget sci-fi made for tv movie vibe when i see both those guns. Maybe i just prefer traditional designs?
Now I'm not saying what i consider a “fuckin goofy” design takes anything at all away from the guns abilities, but i don't think its necessary. However, i will say, even if a gun had all these extras, like the extra ribbing on the slide, or a very contoured grip that would give it this “futuristic” look, If i like it i like it. These two particular guns just don't sit well with me for what ever reason. Like i said i think it looks like a movie prop. Ill go as far as to say, i think giving 007 a P99 makes him less of a man. Don't take that the wrong way and somehow extrapolate that because you own a P99, i think your less of a man. Its just... well 007 is THE MAN. You know?

I do resent that you feel my inclusion of expletives some how reduces the overall quality of my post. And that you now have a pre determined outlook on all my future posts by “not expecting much else”. My comment regarding the WA2000 was simple stated, its just a fuckin Walther. I was simply commenting on the fact that, if he could have one gun and one gun only, it would be a fuckin Walther?

Actually those "ribs" on the slide are much better than the finer serrations you find on older designs and alot of manufacturers are doing it now.

KImber, Taurus, Walther, and so on.

Walther has been at the forefront of weapons design and in my opinion has made some of the greatest arms and innovations in small arms.

1. First practical Double/Single action pistol with the Walther pp

2. First Double/Single action military pistol with the P38

3. Innvention of the the locking block system with the P38. Now used on Beretta 51, 92, and Taurus autos

4. First loaded chamber indicator on the Walther pp

5. Several Olympic winning pistols produced by Walther and later sold to Hammerli and SIG.

6. First Firing pin block/safety which allows you to safely carry a gun with a round chambered and the hammer down with the P38

7. The P88 is considered the finest shooting 9mm combat pistol out of the box and would have most likely taken a large share of teh market if not so finely made and hence so expensive.

8. And the first practical Single/Double action striker fired pistol with the p99.

Personally I dont know of many ofther companies with such a large list of firsts. Colt, S&W, Glock, and HK can only list a couple of comparable achievements.

Ack! I dunno if it's getting any better.

OK the P3000 has been offically renamed the P30.

There seems to be a bastard child of the USP45 and the P30 now...

HK45

"OMG make it stop!!! It burns the eyes!!!"

Guess they learned a lesson that the US wil not give them any business w/o a P2000 .45...

SHotgun News had an article/review on the new HK 45s comign out and reported favorably on them. I hope that the US military doesnt pick hk for the new 45acp contract it announced.

I like the FN design alot as well as the old Sig 220 so far. Glock, S&W, and all the others just dont sit well wit me for teh fact that all but a few are not capable of having the trigger cock and fire the action.
