So I went shopping with my old man today, gander mountain, dicks, bass pro, cabela's; the down side to living in PA is that those stores are all with in an hour of each other so you can spend a lot of money real fast lol; and a few mom and pop sporting goods stores also. There was a High Standard Supermatic Citation in 95%+ condition with 4 mags in a used rack that my dad was looking at it and said he always wanted 1 of those so I bought for him. It was 653$ all said and done. I know nothing about the guns other than HS makes very accurate .22's and have no idea what 1 is worth.

Does any1 know anything about these guns? history value etc...?

If it is from the old and original High Standard Company( Made in Mass.) then they are great guns and its a good deal. If it a new High Standard made in Texas....you would have done better with a tuned up Ruger. The quality, fit, and finish as well as the reliability took a dive when they ressurrected the company under new leadership in Texas.
If i remember correxctly the gun was stanped Conneticut not mass or texas.
No where close to Pittsburgh, if we're in the 'burgh we're usually at Mullaney's on Penn or at Tequila Willies.
