I think novak has a cure for it now. Its a one piece mainspring housing and grip safety. Permanantly disengages it when installed.

Or if I am mistaken just buy a Star or Ballester Molina. Basic 1911 copies without the safety.

Hey even the guy who designed the 1911(John Moses Browning) hated it but had to include it because the US Army Cavalry demanded it have one.

Why i hate grip safeties

2 Hand Decock

The molinas arent mil spec to a colt but most of the parts can be fitted.

The Star is a nice 9mm version but with an external extractor for more strength.
