OK, I tried this last night and shot myself in the foot.

Not to diss on your advice, but it kinda sucked, wasn't at all what I was expecting. Plus it might be expensive!

Hey he shouldnt be bitching I had to work on the friggin gun for him. You know how much fitting it took to put that 20rd fixed chinese mag on? I have never seen a part so out of spec. Just goes to show you that if you gun wasnt made to be modified dont modify it.

BTW getting shot hurts so kids...dont do it at home. I know I have been shot 2 times...once by someone else and once by my own gun(damned mosin nagant) from a riccochet a the range. Fucking metal spinner targets! Luckily it was slow enough it only cut me the second time...still ouch.

Heh, last summer I was at a steel plate match and some dude was shooting something (don't know what) and I was standing off to the site maybe 25 yards back from the target and 10 yards back from the firing line.

He shoots..
Whap! Something hits me in the leg. "Eh, riccochet" I thought.
He shoots...
WHAP Something hits me in the upper leg this time "Screw this, that hurt" as I turn around to walk further away. As I'm turning,
He shoots...
WHAAMM!! Something hits me in the upper arm/shoulder..stung a lot, but didn't draw blood.

I jogged away at a pretty good rate before he shot again. :)

Damn, thats pretty crazy.

I've gotten a ricochet on the face from a shotgun blast off a tree stump. Needless to say, it wasn't fun. Could have been a lot worse. Glad I was wearing safety glasses.

I shot the plates with my masuer first cause well soem dude just left them at the range so I felt like destroying them. It spun it like hell and went all the way through...I switch to my 91/30 mosin nagant and the first bullet comes back and hits me. My dad freaked out cause it was a dandy of a cut. I went out to the spinners and some asshole made them out of 3/8 steel or iron plate. My hot Turk ammo went through but the 7.62 czech shit didnt quite make it. Last time I trust anything like that

Maybe its just yugos but I have never seen one work on anything but Chinese and Russian ones. And even then its spotty. The one we tried was a USA mag and would only feed the first round...every one since would jam to hell.

It takes some messing with, but try replaceing with follower with an AK one. Just file a bit off and it feeds ok, I got my Chinese SKS and my Yugo to run 30's and 40's with a jam every two or three mags. You have to ajust the feed lips alot so its worth it to buy an AK for $300.

I thought at one point in time i had seen a plate that mounted right behind the ejection port that would defect the rounds away from left handed shooters

-Understands this problem fully as he shoots left-handed as well.

Yeah those are made to keep shells from hitting a reciever cover mounted scope. An sks kicks the shells way up and over and they can damage or knock your scope off without one of those.

I just figured its cost me $15 for the 20rd detachable...$40 for the chinese 20rd fixed....gave up and bought a new fixed yugo 10rder because i lost the original.besides its easyer to reload with stripper clips and have no jams at all. Hell i even got a AR15 stock for my sks. i put enough cash into it to have just bought a AK47...or a SU-16 lol.
