Are those drum magazines reliable at all? Do they even sell them to civilians? I'd love to have one, but they don't look very practical... They only hold like 10 rounds anyway, right? My mossy holds 8. heheh
Which mossy? I friend of mine has/had a 590 that I thought held 9, but it might of been 8. I couldn't imagine why you would need anymore than this, but I agree the drum does look kinda cool.
The 590 holds nine plus one in the pipe

The drums are very reliable and very durable.
Mine is on a Mossberg 500. It was badass with a pistol grip but would beat the hell out of the shooter, so I just added a Spec Ops stock and can shoot big loads and 3" slugs all day long with no discomfort at all. (I said big loads  )

They are legal for civillian purchase and use in most states: New York and Boston city ordinances prohibit rifles or shotguns with a detachable magazine capacity greater than five (5) rounds. This makes the installation of a Sidewinder Kit on a shotgun within these city limits a crime.

10 rounds is correct.

They also sell regular box style magazines - like you'd find on an AK, AR, FAL, etc. But, they only hod 6 rnds so the only benefit is a quick reload.

quoted for da quickness of response - which included registration!
If you go with a little longer barrel like 24" you can use an extension and get 10+1 in the pipe. yes it a bit longer but the length is more user friendly than the bulky drum.
i need to take my "project" to these guys and get the works done

My 8 round mossy is a Mossberg 500, I also have an 870 with 7 round cap.

Getting a couple drums would def be cool for reloading purposes. How much do these things cost? Would it attach to a standard Mossberg 500, or 870? Or do you need to start with a magazine fed shotgun?
