Does anyone find gun magazines retarded, or is it just me?

It's like they write the same crap over and over and over, the covers all look the same, a 1911 variant, and they never badmouth a gun thry review, even if it's a piece of crap.

"This particualr model stovepiped every fourth round, but we attribute that to the breaking in period, it's a fine gun except for the fact that the extractor popped off within 50 rounds. The manufacturer [insert major advertising client here] reports that this has never happened before"

If they come right out and say it's a complete piece of shit that would be better suited pounding nails the "major advitisers you enter here" won't send them anymore sample and will tell the other "major advitisors" the same so the writer/mag get blackballed.

 so damn true. I work at a place where I read just about every major gun publication. Another fact: any variation of the 1911 can do no wrong.
For 1911's back in the day, and still most hi powers the break in argument is actually valid. But anything that runs on the SIG-Petters system should never malfunction even during break in.
Agreed

I don't even read them anymore as it's akin to readin Road & Track or Consumer Reports, not at all reliable as relative to real world usage and/or what real hands on folks in industry understand.

If anything I read them every so often for purely entertainment in a gee whiz look at Rambo's new knife type of mode.

Remember Adler you're a dealer so going to gun shows, hunting and outdoor shows and the SHOT show are business expenses there for all tax deductable.
Problem is that all of those are usually quite a ways from here, and being a full time grad student doesnt leave me much money(college is spensive) or time to travel( Im reading 60 books in 15 weeks)
