well after much consideration and testing

i decided not to abandon the glock platform - after all its not glocks fault i let the glockmiester talk me into modding my g27 thus creating realibility issues

i was also kickin the idea around about changin calibers - but that will have to wait i believe

in feb when i re-up my range pass and get another 10% discount coupon the plan is to pick up a g23 with n/s hopefully with high cap mags

before then i want to get a comptac gurkha and tac light / mag combo holder

then i will explore the .45 or 10mm - the only issue with 10mm is the lack of ammo manufactures

I have a Glock 27 and have shot the HELL out of it, never had a single hiccup, even with an after market magazine extension (others are factory Glock mags).

Of all the glocks I have, the ONLY single hiccup I've EVER had was with my Glock 21, and that was due to a faulty round that hadn't been primed correctly, not the fault of my pistol... Actually, I can't even remember the last time I've cleaned or oiled my G21 (I clean the rest, but I sort of test the bounds of the G21)... It's been well over 5000 rounds without a single wipe down. My friend Ryan (ish) from this board can vouch for it.

But yeah, I've always been told not to trust after market parts, etc... Stick with factory parts (which are very cheap and easy to get) and you'll be fine... There's a reason Glock is known as the most reliable semi automatic pistol on earth.

I have the G21 and G20 (10mm), as well as the 17, 26 and 27, and the least shot one is the G20, mainly due to ammo costs and availability. My fav of all of them all around is the G21... Reliable as hell, and deadly accurate (Still not as accurate as a high end 1911), but damn close, which is damn good for a Glock-style pistol. (Including the XD, HKs, etc, etc).

The G17 is the original Glock and is what all Glocks are measured by... It is beyond reliable and it takes 33rnd magazines which are pre-ban! :D

and bruce

i luved my 27 from the word go

just some shady sales man talked me into adding parts - which he assured me were "factory" parts

well now that the only "mod" with may or may not be a factory part is the 3.5# trigger and mepro night sites

i only had 1 FTF in 200 rounds which was caused by a WWB dented case - but a tap rack drill (which i have practiced) fixed said issue

this 200 round "test" wasnt a walk in the park either - loaded 5 mags to the hilt and emptied rapid fire style to realy heat up the parts and cause a failure

little turd got damn hot too

the only thing i can figure is that the supposed "factory" parts actually werent or were 2nds

after a few thousand rounds they worn down and started to fail

1st was the stainless recoil spring assembly which accutally broke!

2nd it was the extended slide lock - guess it was just a few thousands off to begin with

all in all it was a total nightmare

so the plan is to get a ankle rig for the 27 and main carry will be a 23 which wont be any different to conceal as i always had the + mag extenders in the 27

Well I already have a nice 9mm combat pistol with my Steyr, and the 17L is a limited production pistol you just dont find anywhere.

I have always been a sucker for longslides. It would be a nice target gun as well. If add some fiber optic sights to the gun of course.
