Either buck or slugs.

Ammo belts should be the same length, and capacity, right? .44 is the inner diameter of a .308 case, before the necking, right?
I had this Idea with 12Ga one time but I could never think on how to make it work with a belt. There was talk about this in the Halo Manufacturing forum about a 410 version at one time.

Hah! now that I try this with a 410 shell in both an M-60 and 1919 belt they both fit quite well!

dammit! Now I will be thinking of the mechanics of this for the rest of the week.
HaHA! Figure it out, FC. You could revolutionize close quarters combat.

No more MP-5s or 10.5" ARs. Now it is "rack twice, depress button..."
Yeah I was thinking it would be awesome if it could be adapted in a MG42 or MG34 platform.

Mk 48.
The 7.62X54R has almost the same size and type of rim base as the 410 shell. Mess with a PKM and I think it could be done but it would be hard to guide the shell into the chamber without it sticking..

I need to see a PKM belt and feed tray to see how they get that big ass rim to strip out of the belt, I have some kinds other belts from a 1919, M-60 50BMG and even a 20mm section but not a PKM.

Anyone have a PKM I can have? :) Semi is fine...

I have also read about 1919's in 7.62X54R I wonder...

Oh yeah, MK 48 in .410... That brings a smile to my face just thinking about it.

SEE! now that you said this its going to bother me for the next week or two! Oh well, I guess thats how things get invented.

You could also try a Russian Maxim or a British Vickers I suppose since they had rimmed cartridges close to a 410 base
