Yeah I've seen them for 1911s and they are called somethins something "clips". In the 1911 case they attach to the upper grip panel screw and works exactly the same in concept as what you have posted.
From what I read they work well toward deep cover appendix carry.

I've never seen one in IRL.

Yeah, I can definately see that clip digging into your hand when shooting. I'm a big fan of SoB holsters anyway. Fits my clothing style perfectly.

THis part worries me:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

DEFSUSA reminds you to handle ALL firearms as though they were loaded and hot.

DO NOT CHAMBER A LIVE ROUND INTO A HANDGUN EQUIPPED WITH A COVERTCARRIER® UNTIL YOU SPECIFICALLY INTEND TO PRESS THE TRIGGER!

Kind of defeats the purpose of concealed carry, though. Why would you carry if you're not cocked and locked? Um, excuse me, Mr. Assailant, could you please wait on stabbing me while I chamber a round in my pistol? WTF????

Yeah if its not in condition 1 or 2 then whats the point. ANd anyways i wouldn't carry a gun unless it was in a holster that completly covered the triger.

Agreed, and I too wouldnot entertain this.
It just seems like an invitation to trouble.
