Anyone know much about the CMMG uppers? I was looking at them today, and a complete upper from them would cost me about the same as a kit from del-ton and a ARMS 40L rear sight.

My shorty is a CMMG inc upper 7.5"
They are really nice people to deal with. I ordered the upper friday, they built and shipped it that day. very cool

Looks good, fit and finish is nice

runs nice, the only problem I have had is that the extractor spring has weakened, had problems with extraction yesterday at the range. The spring feels about 50% strength compare to my other AR.

I will do the old o-ring trick to see if that helps while I wait for the spring
I took the O-ring out of my M4 because it ejected so hard the shells nicked the hell out of my Shell deflecter on my brand new upper!

That sucks. but why did you have an 0-ring in a brand new upper, was it not ejecting well at first

did you use an older bolt? was the headspace correct?

Mine started out weak, it would eject the cases forward. We'll see if the o-ring helps out, the extractor feels alot stiffer
My question is that are they worth the extra money over the del-ton and jt kits?
Who cares what your question was! I was talking! Im just kidding... but it depends on what you want out of the upper.
would I see a significant increase in accuracy with a CMMG upper? Is there a significant increase in quality over a del-ton kit?
I haven't delt with Del-ton, so I can't give any advise on them,
what kinda shooting are you going to do?
what ammo are you going to use?

no sense using crap ammo in a high end barrel.

If you are going for accuracy I would suggest a RRA varmit, mine shoots great and is for sale in the classified section
mostly paper target shooting, the thing is, is that I am only going to build one AR, and later on I do not want to regret not buying something of decent quality. Right now I plan on using Lake City surplus ammo, but it all depends, I may move up to higher quality ammo.
