I think G3 has been looking into the same thing he should know.

Its been so long I forgot where the AWB stands on automatic shotguns but I know the Saiga 12's only had 5 round mags when they first started comeing into the US.

Soooo... Basicly if its any fun at all its ilegal there...

I get about 90% with Walmarx birdshot because its such a light load. With buckshot and slugs its 100.

Im going to order a ton of that Wolf Buckshot for 2 bucks a box from work. They seem to like that. It has an ajustable gas system that helps alot with the loads.

Id get it at that price even if you can only have 5 round mags, thats a hell of a deal.

uhhh... unless it has some sort of mag lock its a AW...but yea if you can find someone to ship the 10rd mags they are legal

What do you mean? It can take detach mags and NOT be an assault weapon... Why would it be an assault weapon? There's no pistol grip, flash hider, bayonet lug, collapable stock, etc.

it does...thats why its considered a AW....i know CA laws are confusing most of the time....you can have one as long as you have a bullet button on it. a bullet button is a mag latch mod that requires a tool or a tip of a bullet to detach the mag.

just ask the gun shop about how it is legal in CA after all the are the ones selling it :)

ca. aw law (as of today)

you can have a semi auto rifle with a removable mag (button) but you can not have
a flash hider (term tends to change here),
clasable stock,
hand grip,(another weard term involved here) or a
hand hold in front of the trigger gard.

bayonet lug is ok....sofar.

there are some mags releases that are "good" but you need a "tool" to remove the mag. a bullet tip is a tool here.

when no sure look up the law as of the current day.

and some dealers will just not even go close to anything called aw.

they just do not want any "problems" and who can blame them.

I think there is a lower limit on "evil type" shotguns that take detachable mags because when the AWB was in I never saw a Saiga 12 mags over 5 rounds.

By the way If you live in the US and you want an MD-20 20 round Saiga 12 Drum better pre order it now They have 50 bucks off if you pre order it. The drums got delayed and may ship out in Dec.

PS If you do order one order a few extra springs in case they get banned!

oi vey.. I thought this was already answered...

Semi auto shotguns with removable magazines are specifically called out as illegal in CA. They don't follow the same guidlines as CA rifles.

For Rifles it states you cannot have a "A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds."

For Shotguns you cannot have, "A semiautomatic shotgun that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine."

Note where it states "the ability to accept".

http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/regs/genchar2.htm

You can however own a detachable mag shotgun, but it would have to be pump, lever, or bolt action.

BUT BUT BUT... If you walk into a CA gun stor and they have an item for sale that you thought was listed... JUST BUY IT! LOL!

The Saiga 12ga rifle/shot guns are legal in CA, detach mags and all...

My question is, are the 10 round mags legal in CA? They are 10 rounds...

as far as rifles and pistols go your answer is yes.

but does this shot gun have any of the parts that will make you go out and kill people?

hand grip?
forward hand hold?
flash supreser?
bayonet?
thumb hole in the stock?
