I keep seeing this on ar15.com, people that accept paypal are saying that they will accept paypal but for $15 more they will do discreet paypal. What am I missing? I dont get it...

Hmmm, that's an option I've never heard of before. I just did a quick Google search and every mention of "discreet paypal" is on a board selling weapons. I'm befuddled. Perhaps there is a way to do a transfer without giving paypal your identification information, and therefore they can't track that you've purchased a firearm? It seems pointless however since you have to have it shipped to your FFL anyway.

yeah I know... I have read on web sites when buying ammo that paypal isnt gun or ammo friendly (dont know why). But I dont see why or how if you pay more money to the seller of the firearm that it will be "discreet" kinda like your'e buying a sex toy or porn or something lmao.

I think there saying on the list as to what your buying to NOT put that you are buying a firearm or anything firearm related otherwise Paypal will smite you.

I hate Paypal..

Yes, Paypal prohibits direct firearms transactions so does their parent Ebay. So if you state in Paypal you're buying a real firearm, the transaction may not go through. So a "discreet paypal" transaction means don't even hint a firearm is being paid for. Or do as Lowend suggested.

Paypal can cancel, freeze, and/or confiscate your money in your paypal account if you buy firearms with it. DONT DO IT!

so they want you to pay MORE to do it discreetly?I mean it makes sense to just list it as something else and not a firearm. Plus these guys want the 3.9% on top of it (its actually 2.9% with $.30 IIRC).

not sure about paypal making money off each purche,
but cc do put in a fee to the store selling items of any kind. so just maybe the seller is doing what any retail store does...pass the fee on to the buyer.

if you have a problem paying a fee then do not use paypal send the seller a cert check.

and if you must use paypall for ANY gun, part, ammo. never ever say what it is for, just say good/service, or you run the risk of loosing all your money to paypal.
this service co is anti gun.

Oh the delicious ironing. I've bought stuff like stripper clips and bayonet frogs on ebay, and payed with paypal.

It's a free country. Ebay is not prohibited from discriminating. Neither are you. If it bugs you, cancel your paypal accoutn and tell 'em why.

my beef isnt with paypal, its with the fees people want you to pay that are MORE than what paypal charges. Some people want 3.5%, some want 3.9%, etc... And the BUYERS want you to pay a little more, like 5-15 bucks to do a descreet paypal.

Its stupid... Ill just send a damn money order.

Agreed. Why screw around trying to fool paypal when you can just bypass them entirely.

4.7 No Surcharges. You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services, as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions.
I think that should solve any problems. ;)
