Buyer Beware

Just a heads up about GunZoneDeals.com.
I purchased a handgun from this website and received a shipping notification that my item had shipped 3 days later.
GREAT!!! Not bad service.....I thought. It all goes downhill from here.
It shipped next day air via FedEx. I waited a few days and contacted my FFL and they said they had not received it so I contacted GunZoneDeals via their support website for a tracking number. I was sent a reply stating the handgun had been delivered the previous day so I phoned my FFL back. He confirmed that they had not received the firearm and requested that I provide confirmation of delivery. I emailed GunZoneDeals back asking for proof of delivery and they provided it. I phoned my FFL back and gave him the info and he said we have nobody here by that name, but I will check my cameras recordings for the past few days to verify someone had not signed for it.

The next day he phoned me back and asked for the FedEx tracking number. I guess he immediately contacted FedEx. Their first reply was that the item was delivered to the wrong location and they had found it but were waiting for "ship to " verification before tendering the package to them. Another 2 days went by and he contacted FedEx again- this time he was told the package was lost or stolen and tell me to file a claim.

I contacted GunZoneDeals via phone several times leaving a VERY detailed message informing them the weapon was lost or stolen and THEY need to fie a claim as the firearm was not mine until I went through my FFL and had it registered to me.

After a few more days I also informed them that I had stopped payment with my credit card company because I did not want a lost or stolen then recovered firearm without the correct documentation as to it's transit history. I also sent them the link to required ATF forms to report the firearm lost or stolen via email along with a link to the LAW that they had 48 hours to report this.

I got complete silence for almost 3 weeks- then I get a notification that "my firearm" has shipped. I immediately responded notifying them I cancelled the order when the gun went missing.
They replied that they want to CONFIRM that I want to cancel this order. I replied YES- I cancelled it when the gun went missing, lost or stolen!

I figured this was the end of it and went to another online vendor and purchased the same firearm and got it the next day. (From Arizona to Georgia and in my hands the very next day.)

I thought all was good until I get a "refund" from GunZoneDeals for @ $150 less than what I paid. The refund went nowhere because I had the merchant blocked when they returned zero of my phone calls and I put the "lost or stolen" gun in dispute. They also sent me a VERY SNIDE email stating my account had been locked, my IP address blocked and I would be hearing from their collections company. They said "I guess you did not read our "terms and conditions" before you cancelled your order. They also stated they would be adding $100 for the CC chargeback, plus a fee of 30% of the transaction, plus 40% collections fees and I will be contacted by them shortly to settle this balance.
Please do not reach out again. You have wasted enough of our time and resources. <------REALLY??? A firearm was lost or stolen and I get zero response concerning it's where-abouts???

WTF??? They do not respond when the firearm went missing for 3 weeks and then THIS??? I sent them 1 last email detailing the entire process including the ATF links and a link to the law. I copied the ATF this time. If they did not follow the law and report the lost or stolen firearm in 48 hours of notification I hope they get spanked severely!

Just be forewarned- this site is shady and I do not recommend dealing with them AT ALL. BUYER BEWARE!

ive never been able to get Visa or Master Card to step into a situation like that so that part is sketchy at a minimum

second if you were provided tracking for FedEx especially if it shipped by "Net Day Air" as you state you could tell it had been delivered , and to where , so holding the vendor as the bad guy is wrong , thats a FedEx "lost package claim" , again , no CC will inject themselves into that situation , i know this because i have tried several times , Visa and MC protection only extends to "Unauthorized charges" , you authorized the charge from the vendor for good or bad , so Visa and MC will not touch it

if its a debit card your bank will also not get involved for the same reasons , so that part of the story is getting even more sketchy , allot of vendors use Norton delivery guarantee , or will make you check a box declining insurance or to opt for insurance at checkout , you need one or the other to complete the process , this is to keep them out of a lost package situation

they should have responded , IF they offered a refund they didnt have to as long as they can prove they shipped it to the correct address until all the hoops with FedEx has been exhausted , they could have waited until FedEx completed their search , you handled it poorly , i had a 1957 SKS get "lost" by FedEx a few years back , it dragged out for a bit over a month and the vendor was about to refund i told them lets wait , i will contact FedEx and state i was contacting the ATF , 2 days later my rifle was getting tracking updates again

ive never heard of the company , so i did my search before using a unfamiliar site "is gunzonedeals.com legit?" , they came back with a 85% favorable rating which is pretty friging good , so these guys are more than legit , i think if you had handled it better they would have as well , still not buying your CC part of the story

Sketchy???
Apparently you do not understand how gun purchases work....the firearm is not mine until transferred into my name by an FFL. FedEx would not deal with me, they dealt with my FFL. They told them to tell the seller to file a claim. I did what my FFL recommended I do when I got zero response from them as to the disposition of the firearm and what their plan was...I told them to pound sand.

Maybe you should use AMEX VS VISA OR MASTERCARD???.....they have always had my back on purchases for over 35 years. They conferred with their legal team and then cancelled the sale and refunded the purchase amount to my account. The merchant disputed it with Amex trying to charge me their "cancellation fee" after I offered to purchase the firearm anyways. They chose to play games and stated "NO- You can not purchase the gun, you cancelled the sale". Quite juvenile...I sent all the emails to Amex and their request to charge me the cancellation fee was declined. I made a good effort to make it just go away even though I did not need the firearm and the sale was already cancelled due to non-responsiveness (I moved on and already bought another one) but I was going to just give it to my son...MY FFL said I was absolutely NUTS for even offering to do so after the manner in which they dealt with this.

Cheers!~

im 60 years old , ive watched the internet evolve from concept into what it is today , ive been making online purchases since they started , i remember buying firearms on ebay , i had over 200 weapons in my collection before the great thinning of the heard as i call it , so i am extremely well versed on the practice of online gun sales on both sides

i also know for a fact that CC companies do not get involved when you make a "authorized" purchase , nor does your bank , they simply refuse to "cancel" a purchase you made so yes that part of your story does not hold water ,and is sketchy casting doubt on everything else you say, you also state you only allowed 3 days to expire before flipping out on a reputable seller , hardly a fair chance to get things sorted out , i wouldnt call you back right away either if i was them , you prematurely pulled the pin on a deal and expect to walk away whole

Uhmmmm....OK. Not going to argue with you since I have not purchased over 200 guns. :coffee:
How did payment get stopped if CC companies do not get "involved"?.....

Doesn't sound like a good vendor to deal with. I have had 1 or 2 horrible experiences myself.

In the end, I hope you have all your money.
