Bersa Firestorm

OK So I saw the coolest and best feeling gun today at my work. it is a Bersa mini 40 firestorm.

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this cool looking gun. I basically just want it for fun shooting every once in a while and maybe possibly for self defence when I am old enough to get my ccw.

What are your guys' opinions?

Bersa is a fine firearm. Did you ever look at the fullsize hi cap thunder 9 and 40? They remind me of the old Walther P88 I love and cannot afford. Argentine produced and of very god materials. Excellent bang for teh buck.
That's a sweet looking little pistol. The trigger looks a bit strange though. Seems very long with a really severe forword sweep. I wonder what the trigger pull feels like.

They have the typical DA feel to them, very much like a Wintess or CZ75/85. I really like them alot and the fullsize 40 is something I am considering buying if I dont splurge and buy a p99 or p5 Walther.
Yeah I think I want this one to be my first pistol, but I kinda want my p22 first since 22 ammo is so much cheaper than 40 SW. I mean I work at a gun shop and the ammo is still super expensive if I am just buying it to shoot for fun. $20 at wal mart and a p22 can leave for a full day of fun with me and my freinds.

I don't know what I am going to do when I get my ar 15. that ammo isn't cheap either for my budget. I can get 500 for $75, but that is if I buy it all at once. it's pretty good wolf ammo though.

So bersa is good huh? I wonder why they are so cheap then. I can get this gun for $280. that is for a 40 cal. interesting.

Hows the recoil? I betcha it's a little high since the gun is a little on the small side. kinda like a compact glock.
40 S&W and 223 arent that expensive if you shop around on the net. I bought 1000 rds of 223 for 110 with shipping and 40 S&W for about the same. Its still some money but alot cheaper than some ammo like 44mag....21 bucks for 50 at wally world. I found a place that sell it for 9 bucks a box but the shipping is godawful so I havent put in an order yet until I can buy a few hundred bucks worth.

Bersa is cheap cause tehe Argentine economy crashed a few years back and labor got uber cheap all of a sudden. Its really good shit man...the argentien factories were an FN contracter fora while so if thats an indicator on quality I say go.

What kind of .223 did you buy, and where from? I'm looking for some XM193 and can't find a good deal anywhere. It's always either out of stock, or way over priced. It seems everyone has XM855 or whatever the 62gr steel core stuff is, but I can't shoot that at any of the local ranges due to the 'fire hazzard.' :x

Yeah you are looking for the old outdated US 55gr 5.56 round and not the current 5.56 Nato round. When they went from the a1 with teh 1 in 12 twist to the 1 in 9 twist they canged the lloading to teh steel stuff that FN designed. I bought a case of Silver Bear 62gr softpoint a few months back through cheaperthandirt. I think tis gone up since then but the silver bear stuff is the way to go. It doenst have the laquer case that gums up ar systems like the wolf or barnaul shit does. Its zinc plated instead, and yeah its steel and steel is supposed to wear out extractors faster but it a part that cost a few bucks to replace and you save a ton in ammo. I have never had one problem with the steel shit in any of my pistols or rifles, although I hear they are hardest on 1911's. I find that odd since TOkarevs are pretty much a colt copy and they eat steel all day long.
I would check out www.cheaperthandirt.com they seem to have pretty good prices and a huge selection.
Yeah, believe me, having a 1/9 twist in my SU I would prefer to use 855, but like I said, here in northern Cali you can't use any steel core due to the fire hazard. They even gave me a hard time about it (checked my xm193 with a magnet to make sure it didn't have a steel core) on a rainy day the other week. :x The search continues...

blzrd, what do you guys have for a price on that sweetheart??
I think it is around $280. but go to www.impactguns.com and look for it there for a true price. they have a great selection there and can ship to an ffl if you guys like anything on there.
My price is 275.00 just to let you know
what calliber is that thing? i might look into 1 of those.
They come in 9mm and 40 for sure but they do or did make a 45 as well I think.
i am going to try and fire one of those and get 1 as my first gun. that or the new keltec.
