I hear it every day, I know its a pickey thing but I correct EVERYONE on it, even gun shop owners, and ohhh how I love the look they give you when you correct someone thats been around guns there whole life. If there is one thing that grinds my gears its hearing someone that should know, whos shot for years calling it a clip! Why?! I DONT KNOW! but it does.

I see it sometimes here on the forums and most of the time I keep myself back from correcting it or saying anything. Its mostly those airsofties that call them clips but its not entirely there fault ;) im jk guys... well... kinda...

Anyways to finish this rant, is it just my strange self that it bothers or is there anyone else that shares my fellings on this subject?

"A clip is not a magazine,
A mag is not a clip,
And neither is a grip a stock,
And 'stock' does not mean grip.
I do not mean to nitpick,
But improvement could be seen,
If we could ever bring ourselves
To say exactly what we mean."

One way to think of it is a magazine has SPRINGS, and a clip does NOT.

But then you'd have to know the internal workings of a magazine.

Ticks me off too, like endless BOV questions from ppl with new impreza turbos. :p

yea thats a nice first post, how about an introduction before you start putting people down?

Not a good way to get people to help you by being an ass on the first time you type something on here.

Just a little advice if you care to lissen.

I explained it in post 2! :)

A Clip is a piece of metal that holds rounds, but does not actually feed rounds into the chamber of a gun. A magazine does indeed actually feed rounds into the gun. Sometimes (as with a garand) you can use an 8 round clip to feed rounds into the garand's magazine for it to shoot. :)

here's a pic of a clip and a glock, for instance.

yeah , had a feeling that it was the infamous "brucelee" of the I-Club:p

sorry about the first post, i get to hear all manner of people bitch all day long without offering a solution to a problem.

as for the distinction between the two... that's pretty much what I thought. I see a lot of personalities from the Subaru board here. can't just be coincidence;)
