Looks like I might be getting a little cash money from work (mileage reimbursement) and I think I can afford to buy myself a little present. Thinking about a .22lr conversion.

I'm torn between an Advantage Arms kit for the G19, or a full upper for the AR.

Both would be fun, the AR kit would be pricier naturally, but also correspondingly more fun.

Help me decide!

Ciener conversion kits are my pick. They make them for both Glock and the AR. The AR is nice because its just a new bolt assembly. CDNN had some nice tactical looking upper ones made by a czech firm.

I'd be leaning toward a dedicated 22lr uppre for the AR, and the only guys that do that are Bushmaster, DOMS and CZ, supposedly, but a search on the reveals nothing.

Ciener looks good though. Price is right, too!

Research indicates Ciener kit for the AR, and an advantage arms kit for the glock or 1911.

I'm torn between converting the Glock or 1911 though. One reason is so my 7 year old can shoot it. I gave him both guns last night, and said "Try each one, which one would you rather shoot?"

God bless his little heart, he prefers the 1911. :D So advatage arms kit for that when the next travel check comes in.

Ever since I was his age I had love for the 1911. There's just something so elegent but utilitarian about 'em.

Someday I will get one.

Well, all the advantage arms kits for the 1911 are backordered till like, March.

Luckily I found a Ciener kit used at a local gun shop!

Just tried it out in the office, and it seems to work fine with bulk high velocity ammo. :)
