    Sig Sauer P226R

Okay gang, I finally gave in and got a P226R since my collection of handguns is saturated with 1911s, but is markedly deficient in the high capacity 9mm combat handgun area. Since I have not gotten along well with Glocks and because my EMP and XD 9 Subcompact are hardly high capacity (9 round mags for the EMP and 10 round mags for the XD), I decided to go with a Sig. I know that Sig has had some QC issues of late (especially since Cohen of Kimber fame has taken over the wheelhouse), but is there anything in particular that I should be on the look out for during the break in period?

P.S. I'll try to get you guys some pics later tonight.

Well, I ran 150 problem free rounds of 115 gr Remington FMJ through the gun yesterday at the range after work. I'll try and get another 150 rounds or so down range this weekend and then I'll make the switch over to my Bonded Golden Sabers for 200 or so rounds and then call it good after a thorough cleaning.

I picked up a 229 elite not long ago (this past December), and have fired around 200 rounds and am surprised at the accuracy and reliability so far. I think it might have choked once on some winchester white box, but I hate that crap. Its been fine with Federal and American Eagle range ammo and Federal HST's.

I've got about 450 rounds through the gun without any issues and am enjoying the hell out of it...I'm just not too terribly fond of the first round DA trigger pull.

And MMC, you won't miss your P229 once you get some serious trigger time in with the 1911. As much as I've been enjoying my new P226, I always revert to one of my 1911s for carry (my Wilson Combat getting the nod more than any others since it's my only compact .45 and incidentally my best handgun too).
