Stopped in Kittery and they had a WWII Wartime production Remington-Rand 1911 for around a thousand bucks. I wasn't sure if it was a good price or not, but what a cool piece of history.

For those who don't know, in WWII, Colt manufactured most of the military's sidearms, the 1911A1, but they could not quite meet demand so a whole bunch of other manufacturing companied re-tooled and pitched in making these guns, including rand-remington, westinghouse, Union Switch and Signal, Singer (The sewing machine guys) and Ithaca.

I dunno, how cool would it be to get something like that. I don't think it is a very good price for that gun, but still..... gotta save up for that Barrett .50bmg....
