    Mag pouches

Anyone have recommendations? I'd like to pick up a single if not double mag pouch for my 1911 since my MTAC doesn't have a spot for spare mags. Preferably IWB.

I rock a Wilson Combat dual mag pouch in sharkskin. It's a great piece of gear, it is however, OWB. For a single IWB mag pouch, however, I'd say have a look at Galco. I know they make something like that for Glock mags, but I'm not sure if they have it for the 1911 mags as well.

I thought I remembered Crossbreed making a IWB holster with a mag pouch built in... can't seem to find it now

I don't know about the OP, but I for one am not a huge fan of the mag pouch integrated into the holster. It seems a it cumbersome to get at as compared to a spare carried on the weak side hip.

I agree. If I'm holding the gun with my right hand, it would be awkward to reach across my body with my left to reload.

depends on how you carry. If you're right handed, and have the holster on your left side for a cross-body draw...then having the mag built in with the holster makes sense.

Very few non-hollywood people carry this way though.

Ding, ding, ding, no one I know of carries cross draw IRL. Keep the mag pouch on the weak side to facilitate faster reloads.
